Women Executed in America
On May 1, 2001, Marilyn Plantz, 40, was executed by lethal injection in Oklahoma for arranging the brutal murder of her husband Jim. Plantz recruited her teenage lover Clifford Bryson and his friend Clinton McKimble to kill her husband, seeking to cash in his $300,000 life insurance policy. On August 26, 1988, as Jim was returning from work, Bryson and McKimble beat him to death with baseball bats. Then, per Plantz's instructions, they drove his body to a remote area, and, after drenching his body and his truck in gasoline, set him on fire.

To avoid the death penalty McKimble agreed to testify against Bryson and Plantz, and received a life sentence. Bryson was also given the death sentence. He was executed in 2000.
