The Murder
At around 2:15 a.m. on May 3 2010, Love's roommate returned to find her unresponsive, face down on her pillow in a pool of blood. The roommate called 911 and reportedly told the dispatcher than Love was suffering from an alcohol overdose, but paramedics immediately noticed that her right eye was swollen and that she had a large bruise on the right side of her face, as well as bruises and scrapes on her chin. When Love failed to respond to C.P.R. she was pronounced dead at the scene. "There were obvious physical injuries to her body," said Charlottesville Police Chief Tim Longo, "which prompted them to immediately secure the crime scene."
