During spring break 2009, Sabella Davis , 20 (pictured), was arrested for shooting Laquanzia Bush, 19, in the abdomen. Police found Bush on a grassy median between Thomas and South Thomas Drive near Butterface Pizza in the early hours of the morning. Davis' sister Amanda Kathryn Davis was also arrested as an accessory after the fact for knowingly driving her sister away from the crime scene. Though the case has gone to trial twice, both times a judge declared a mistrial. David declined a plea offer that would have carried a five-year sentence (which she was about 50 days from completing with time served), but Davis has agreed to a new trial. If she is convicted of the charge against her, aggravated battery with a firearm, she could be sentenced to life in prison with a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years.
