Keenan Ratchford
November 4, 2011: Keenan Ratchford of Shelby, N.C. was having car trouble. An assisting officer pulled over just after 11:30 p.m. and noticed that he had burnt out tag lights. On further investigation the officer discovered that Ratchford was driving with a revoked license. There was also a strong smell of marijuana emanating from the vehicle, but the officer was unable to find anything illegal inside the vehicle, or on Ratchford's person. When Ratchford was in custody, police were still unable to find the source of the smell, when Ratchford reportedly said, "Aight, man, I gotta be real with you," and told police the marijuana was, according to the police report, "in his buttocks." Police searched the area and found 11 bags of "a green vegetable substance" secreted in Ratchford's buttocks.
