Clifford Harris Jr. aka T.I.
On September 1, 2010, rapper and star of Takers T.I.—legal name Clifford Harris Jr., 29—and his wife, Tameka Cottle, 36, were pulled over in West Hollywood, Calif. when police smelled marijuana wafting from their vehicle. A search of the vehicle turned some marijuana and some Ecstasy. T.I. had recently finished a seven month jail sentence stemming from a 2007 incident in which he had tried to buy machine guns and silencers in a Walgreen's parking lot. Harris and Cottle were arrested and released after posting bail, but this was a clear violation of Harris' parole.
Coincidentally, the Monday before he was scheduled to appear before a judge, Harris helped a jumper down safely from the 22nd floor of 400 Colony Square in Atlanta, Ga. Apparently, he had been following the incident on the radio and went to see if he could help. Harris used his cell phone to videotape the jumper and had the phone sent up to the negotiator. Shortly after the jumper watched the video, he moved away from the ledge. Harris' involvement made headlines, but the judge was not swayed. Harris is expected to report to jail November 1.
