According to her Write a Prisoner
profile, South Carolina inmate Yolanda Thompson, 23, is looking for "long term friendship; someone who can make [her] smile and look forward to mail." She says she likes to learn and read and hopes to one day write a book.
In 2009, Thompson was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of 16-year-old cheerleader Marisha Jeter. In January 2008, Thompson and her husband, Pernell Clayton Thompson Jr., lured Jeter to a YMCA parking lot, where they stabbed her 33 times with a kitchen knife and set her car on fire. According to testimony, Thompson held Jeter down while her husband stabbed her, demanding that he "prove his love" to her. Both pleaded guilty; Pernell Thompson, who attended college on a football scholarship, is also serving life without parole.
