Martha Stewart Prison Living

Stewart pulled up in this sport-utility vehicle at approximately 6:15 a.m. to Alderson Federal Prison Camp. New inmates are typically fingerprinted, photographed, given a medical examination, and strip-searched. They are also ordered to give a specimen sample and to cough to make sure they are not hiding drugs. Prisoners are also assigned jobs; they earn between 12 and 40 cents an hour.
