Murder for Hire
"One million per head"
In Maplewood, MO., police say a bizarre Craigslist ad has led to a federal charge against one William Lawrence. According to the United States Attorneys Office, Lawrence, 32, posted an ad soliciting the murders of Maplewood police officers. The ad offers one million dollars "per head," and two million dollars for the killing of a specific detective. Lawrence was arrested after detectives traced his IP address. According to the federal complaint, Lawrence has had a prior run-in with the police, and was angry that his firearms were not returned to him after they were seized during an arrest. He is charged with Use of Interstate Commerce Facilities in the Commission of Murder for Hire, and faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
