Maine: Bed and Breakfast Murders
In the quiet, secluded town of Newry, the discovery of four bodies at the Black Bear Bed & Breakfast over the 2006 Labor Day Weekend came as a horrifying shock. Killed were guest James Whitehurst, 50, inn owner Julie Bullard, 65, her daughter Selby Bullard, 30, and friend Cynthia Beatson, 43. All four bodies were dismembered; Whitehurst's was burned and dumped in the woods 15 miles away. Christian Nielsen (pictured), 31, a cook who had worked at another inn in a nearby town, was convicted of the murders and received a life sentence.
