Body of Evidence
Authorities always suspected that Dr. Robert Bierenbaum was responsible for the 1985 disappearance of his wife, Gail. The plastic surgeon, who was also a licensed pilot, flew over the Atlantic Ocean just one day after his wife vanished, causing investigators to speculate that he'd killed her in their posh Manhattan apartment, then dismembered her body and dropped her remains during the flight.

Fifteen years later, the investigation was reopened, and Bierenbaum was charged, tried and convicted. He is serving a 20-year sentence.
