Alpha Gamma Delta
March 1970: As described by Hank Nuwer in his book Wrongs of Passage: Fraternities, Sororities, Hazing and Binge Drinking, Alpha Gamma Delta members drove Donna Bedinger and another female student into a woodsy area three miles away from Eastern Illinois University (pictured) and left them there as part of a kidnapping practice known as a "pledge sneak". Bedinger ran after the departing car and tried to catch its rear bumper but missed, hitting her head on the pavement. She died a few days later from head trauma.
