Wisconsin — Joseph Paul Franklin
Wisconsin — Joseph Paul Franklin
Franklin (pictured) was a traveling man — he roamed the country to "cleanse" it of blacks, Jews, and homosexuals. Although he killed or attempted to kill in 10 states, his first murder was in Madison on August 7, 1977, where he fatally shot a black man and his white female companion. All in all, Franklin has been linked or confessed to 20 murders, six assaults, 16 bank robberies, and two bombings. Franklin confessed to the shooting of Hustler publishing mogul Larry Flynt, but was never convicted of that crime. He is currently serving multiple life sentences.
