Fred Neulander
Fred Neulander
He may have been a rabbi, but that didn't stop Fred Neulander from having an extramarital affair with radio personality Elaine Soncini, who said her lover promised he would be with her by her Dec. 17, 2001, birthday. On Nov. 1, 2001, Neulander's wife, Carol, was murdered.

Fred Neulander was charged with ordering the hit, and Soncini initially lied to police about the romantic relationship. When she learned that the man she loved had more than one mistress, Soncini told police about the affair and became a key witness for the prosecution. His first trial ended in a hung jury, but Fred Neulander was retried, convicted and sentenced to life in prison.
