Trashing the Hotel Room
Rock guitarist Jimi Hendrix (pictured) said his drink was spiked while on tour in Sweden in January 1968, when he went on a violent rampage, trashing his hotel room and injuring his hand. He was tried and wound up paying a fine. On May 3, 1969, he was again arrested while going through Canadian customs, when customs agents found heroin and hashish in his luggage. He was released the same day on bail, and later told a judge that the drugs were put there without his knowledge by a fan. He was acquitted. Hendrix would later die a drug-related death in London.
