Petoskey Batman
Petoskey Batman
In Petoskey, MI., police apprehended a man dressed as Batman on the roof of a downtown building. According to the report, cops observed "a male subject, dressed in a Batman costume, hanging off the western wall of the building." The man was 31-year-old Mark Wayne Williams, who is known for dressing as the superhero and has a Facebook page under the name "Petoskey Batman." During the May arrest, Williams was allegedly found to be in possession of a baton, a can of pepper spray and a pair of sand-filled gloves. In September, as part of a plea agreement under which all other charges were dropped, Williams pleaded guilty to one count of attempted resisting and obstructing a police officer. On October 17th, he was sentenced to six months probation, one of the conditions being that cannot wear costumes during that time.
On his Facebook page, which has over 4,000 fans, the Petoskey Batman gave readers constant updates about his legal misadventure. He also posts about domestic violence awareness, crime in Michigan, and local events.
