Don't Doctor My Eyes!
03/10/2007: Clients of the Perich Eye Center in New Port Richey, FL., usually come to the state-of-the-art optometry clinic with vision-impairing problems such as cataracts and glaucoma. But, according to the St. Petersburg Times, one patient could see well enough to notice something unusual - Dr. Paula Jean Russian, one of the practicing optometrists at the center, had no credentials displayed in her office. The patient tipped off authorities, and undercover investigators were sent to Russian's office, where the dubious eye doc performed exams and wrote them prescriptions. Russian, it turned out, had been practicing optometry at the same facility for 20 years without a license - a felony.
