American Idol Scandals
Although many Idol hopefuls have checkered pasts, few could match the rap sheet of season nine contestant Anthony "Skiiboski" Wheeler. After passing the initial auditions in Atlanta in August 2009, Wheeler won his trip to Hollywood, and reporters quickly unearthed Wheeler's troubled past. Wheeler, it turned out, had been arrested five times in Orange County, Fla., between 2005 and 2009, three times for possession of drugs and related chargeson one occasion even being tasered by police, once for violating his probation and driving with an expired license, and once for contempt of court.

Despite his evident familiarity with interacting with judges, though, he nonetheless fared poorly in the sudden-death elimination in Hollywood: after singing a few bars of Ain't to Proud to Beg, he was given the boot.
