In the spring and summer of 2010, the city of Flint, Mich., was terrorized by a serial stabber who targeted black men. The attacker also struck in Ohio and Virginia. In all, five were killed and 18 others injured. The chase for the suspect, Elias Abuelazam, went all the way to the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport as he tried to flee the U.S. to Israel.
On June 21, 2010, Abuelazam killed Emmanuel Muhammad in Flint, Mich. This was the second fatal stabbing in his bloody spree, which spanned at least three states and lasted from May 24 until his arrest on August 11 at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport as he tried to flee to Israel.
Elias Abeulazam, 35, was convicted today of the first-degree murder of Arnold Minor in Flint, Michigan. Authorities believe Abuelazam is reponsible for 14 knife attacks in the Flint area during the summer of 2010.
