Portuguese police in Oporto have reopened the case of Madeleine McCann, an English girl, 3, who disappeared on May 3, 2007, from the suite her parents had rented at resort Praia da Luz, citing the discovery of leads that were never investigated during the original probe.
Neither Police, nor her parents, are giving up on missing child Madeleine McCann. Continuing investigative efforts have led police to a German man wanted for questioning in connection with the child’s 2007 disappearance. Two sketches have been released to the public in efforts to identify this man.
Stephen Birch, a South African real estate developer, initially unconnected to the case of Madeline McCann, developed an interest her disappearance, as people often do in high-profile missing child cases. Birch however, went quite a bit further, conducted his own unofficial investigation, and now believes he may have found Madeline’s grave.
