Serial Conman ‘Clark Rockefeller’ Convicted of Murder

John Sohus was last seen in 1985. It took 10 years to find his remains. Another 15 years went by before his alleged killer Christian Gerhartsreiter (then known as Clark Rockefeller) was captured by authorities. But a Los Angeles jury needed just one day to find Gerhartsreiter guilty of murder.

The Man Who Would be a Rockefeller on Trial for Murder

After Christian Gerhartsreiter arrived in America from Germany, he changed his name several times and told anyone he met spectacular falsehoods about being an aristocrat. In 2008, going by the name Clark Rockefeller, he was arrested for kidnapping his young daughter. Now, Gerhartsreiter is on trial for the 1985 murder of his former landlady’s son.
