A flawed FBI profile in the case of The Baton Rouge Killer, known for targeting beautiful women and abducting them from their homes, derailed big agencies participating in the investigation. Local police identified the serial killer correctly, but it would ultimately take DNA analysis, and at least seven murders before the case would be solved.

Today in Crime History: Body of Pam Kinamore Found in Marsh

A state survey crew working near Whisky Bay Bridge discovered a gruesome sight on July 16, 2002. In a marshy wooded area beneath the bridge, they saw the nude body of a dead woman lying at the water’s edge. It was Pam Kinamore, victim of the Baton Rouge serial killer, known for targeting beautiful, white women of Baton Rouge.
