911 call from Sparks, Nevada, shooting released

Police are still trying to figure out why a soft-spoken 12-year-old student from the Sparks Middle School outside Reno, Nevada, opened fire Monday around 7 a.m., killing one teacher and wounding two students before turning the gun on himself.

The seventh grader reportedly brought a 9mm Ruger to school and used it to fatally shoot popular math teacher Michael Landsberry, a former marine who was killed when he placed himself between the gunman and his students. Landsberry is being hailed as a hero.

Both unidentified students were reported in stable condition Monday, one treated for a shoulder wound and the for an abdominal wound. The identity of the shooting has not been released.
