Meet Raymond Frolander, 18, of Holly Hill, Florida, caught in the act of allegedly molesting his neighbor’s 11-year-old son early Friday morning. Frolander had the bad luck of getting caught by none-other-than the child’s father, who called 911 saying, “Send an ambulance. He is going to need one.” The dispatcher then asked if any weapons were used, to which the father replied, “my foot and my fist.”
When police arrived, they reportedly found a beaten and bloodied Frolander lying unconscious on the living room floor. The victim’s upset father reportedly informed police, “I just walked in on a grown man molesting [child's name redacted], and I got him in a bloody puddle for you officer.” He continued saying, “I didn’t proceed to ask him any questions sir. He is nice and knocked out on the floor for you. I drug him out to the living room.”
The father explained that around 1 a.m. he had gone out to pick up a snack, leaving the boy to play video games with Frolander and some friends. When he came back about a half hour later, the friends were gone and he heard strange noises coming from the bedroom. So he opened the bedroom door, “He stood up and his pants were around his ankles and nothing else needed to be said. I did whatever I got a right to do except I didn’t kill him.” The unnamed father added, “damn lucky boy that I love my God.”
The child reportedly told police that Frolander had been abusing him for three years, and that he had threatened the child with violence if he ever revealed the abuse.
Daytona Beach police Chief Mike Chitwood does not plan to charge the father with anything, “Dad was acting like a dad. I don’t see anything we should charge the dad with.” Chitwood explained, “You have an 18-year-old who has clearly picked his target, groomed his target and had sex with the victim multiple times.” He concluded, “The 18-year-old was almost like a family member.”
Frolander was charged with sexual battery on a child under 12 and is being held without bail.
