Naked drunk woman shows up to jail for conjugal visit

Maura Fussell

It seems that even today, true love knows no bounds — especially after a seven-hour pub crawl.

Arlington County Virginia police arrested¬†Maura Fussell, 26, after she showed up — allegedly drunk and naked — to visit her husband at the jail. Reports don’t specify why he was arrested earlier that day in Clarendon, only that the two were participating in Arlington’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock¬†pub crawl from 2 p.m. to 9 that day.

Reports also don’t mention where her clothes were or how she got to the jail, which is just a stone’s throw from the Courthouse Metro station. That will have to remain an open question.

According to police, the Reston, Virginia, woman presented herself Saturday at 11 p.m. at the Magistrate’s Office near the jail Saturday evening, and was told that she had to put on clothes or get in a cab and go home. She refused to do either and was promptly arrested for indecent exposure and public drunkenness. Fussell was held at the jail until she sobered up.

The happy couple wasn’t reunited until the next day when they were both released.
