A substitute teacher in Stamford, Connecticut, is on suicide watch after getting arrested February 26, 2014, for masturbating in a high-school corridor, while “watching” the children.

According to police, the strange behavior of Michael Luecke, 72, first came to the attention of a teacher’s aide at the Westhill High School around 7:30 a.m. last wednesday. As the day began, the aide reportedly saw Luecke lying on the floor in the hallway, and walked over thinking that Luecke was injured.

On closer inspection the assistant realized that he Luecke had his hand down his pants, and was actually in the throes of passion. The aide yelled, and Luecke reportedly fled the scene. Principal Camille Figluizzi summoned police and gave them surveillance video relating to the incident. On the video, Luecke is allegedly seen around 7:30 a.m. watching the students from a stairwell, while vigorously manipulating the front of his pants.  School resource officers caught up with Luecke in his classroom, removed him and detained him for police. Though Luecke, has reportedly been a sub since 2009, passed the background check and never caused any problems, he was fired on the spot.

Luckily, it seems that at the time of the incident most of the students were in the classroom. Six students seen on the video walking past did not obviously notice Luecke’s raptures, but at least one person, possibly a student, tweeted about several students seeing a man masturbating in the school. Police plan to identify and offer those students counseling.

Luecke is charged with public indecency, second-degree breach of peace and risk of injury to a minor.
