According to police in DeSoto, Texas, they arrested Dyonta Rose, 29, on February 22, 2014, after allegedly finding him in possession of a backpack containing what appeared to be narcotics. Just like on a TV drama, police read Rose his rights, arrested him, slapped on the cuffs and put him in the back of a squad car. Then things became more comedic.

Rose was left alone for a few moments, and according to a spokesperson for DeSoto Police, “The suspect was able to escape due to apparent equipment failure, which has since been rectified.” Rose escaped cops, but not the cuffs.

He called Dallas 911 hours later to complain that the cuffs were cutting off the circulation in his arm.

Dallas police kindly showed up and no doubt adjusted the cuffs for him before contacting DeSoto police.

Rose, now blissfully free of the handcuffs, is safely locked away in a cell in DeSoto police custody for felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, escape, tampering with evidence, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
