Police tweet heartwarming Valentine’s day threat

A poetic tweet from police in Edinburgh, Scotland, just in time for Valentine’s day, serves at once to entertain and warn anyone thinking of committing a crime. Rose are red, Violets are blue, If you commit a crime on Valentine’s day …

As one follower put it, “Awww! Touching AND Threatening.”

Other followers helpfully tried to complete the rhyme for police, who insisted that that would be “no fun.”

Inspired, police in Glasgow, Scotland, today issued a similar warning that rhymed: “Roses are red, violets are blue, our luxury cells are a bit chilly, that’ll make you blue too!”

Happy Valentine’s day.
