Incriminating ‘selfies’ help collar not-so-smart catburglar

Depree JohnsonFlorida man Depree Johnson, convicted felon and alleged jewel thief, got himself collared when he posted a bunch of photos of himself on Instagram posing with cash, guns, and stolen jewelry. Though he may not have the best temperament for a thief, Johnson may have a future in photography. The incriminating photos in all their glory are shown here.

Palm Beach County deputies already suspected Johnson in the jewelry thefts, and used the photos to connect him to the crimes. Once police figured out where Johnson had taken the items, they searched the home  and found about $250,000 in stolen items.

Johnson was arrested and charged with 142 counts, including possession of weapons/ammunition by a convicted felon.
