Video has emerged of a May 28, 2013, body-retrieval effort by South African divers that became a rescue when they found Harrison Okene, the ship’s cook, alive inside the Nigerian ship Jascon 4 that sank to the bottom three days prior. Okene was in an air pocket in the dark, with no food or water.
It is not known how cold it was in the water, it looks like but the ship was deep, at the very bottom, because the divers are breathing helium rather than oxygen. This longer video shows the whole underwater rescue operation.
In all 11 men died when the Jascon 4 went down.
