Neither Police, nor her parents, are giving up on missing child Madeleine McCann. Continuing investigative efforts have led police to a German man wanted for questioning in connection with the child’s 2007 disappearance. The two sketches shown here have been released to the public in efforts to identify this man.
After interviewing as many witnesses as possible, police now say they have constructed a new and “significantly” different timeline surrounding the suspected abduction, and that it is of “vital importance” that they speak with a man described by witnesses as German, 20 to 40 years old, with brown hair. No other details were forthcoming.
Madeleine McCann, just days shy of her fourth birthday, is believed to have been snatched from her parents’ hotel suite while the family was on vacation in Praia da Luz, Portugal. Her two younger siblings were asleep in the room with her and were left untouched. Portuguese officials, initially targeted a male suspect, then Madeleine’s parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, but they never made any arrests, and eventually closed the case.
In 2012, Portuguese police refused a request by English investigators to reopen the case. As of May of this year, police in England, continued to urge Portuguese investigators to reopen the case. As of this writing, the case is still closed in Portugal.
