Alabama Teen Prankster Commits Suicide After Threatened with Sex Offender Registry

A popular high schooler committed suicide after his principal publicly threatened “legal consequences” for running across a football field naked at halftime.

Huntsville, Alabama prankster Christian Adamek, 15, streaked the Friday night Sparkman High School football game. The crowd loved it and friends posted the video online.

Sparkman High Principal Michael Campbell was not amused. He went on the local TV news broadcast to address the issue. He played up the legal consequences even though he had not actually talked with prosecutors at that time.

Faced with this world of trouble — along with the threat of being placed on the state’s sex offender registry — was too much for Adamek to handle. So he hung himself.

Adamek was a spirited, well-liked kid. Adamek’s Boy Scout Troop master said at his memorial service, ”there are two kinds of people in the world; ones that brighten the room when they walk in and those that don’t — he was one that brightened the room when he walked in. That’s what I’ll always remember about Christian.”

The original news report has been removed; however an independent Youtube poster has the news report showing Campbell and the Vine video posted of the streaking:
