Ex-Teacher Released After 30 Day Sentence for Raping Girl

Stacey Rambold

Former high school teacher Stacey Rambold, 54, was released from a Montana prison today after serving a 30-day prison sentence for raping a 14-year-old student. Prosecutors are appealing the sentence handed down by District Judge G. Todd Baugh.

The judge already apologized for his comments regarding the victim in the case.  Judge Baugh said the victim was ”older than her chronological age” and implied that she was in control of the relationship with teacher Stacey Rambold.

The victim in this case, Cherice Moralez, committed suicide in 2010 while the case was pending. She was 16.
