Wealthy Texas Mom Gets 14 Years for Distributing Child Porn

From our friends at:

A “Classybitch” in Dallas just admitted to a federal court that she’s got a nasty habit of downloading and sharing really, really, vile collections of child pornography.

The woman’s real name is Erika Perdue, she’s 42, and she’s wealthier than most of the people who will read any articles about her. She lives in Texas, in a ritzy north Dallas suburb called University Park, and the Dallas News reports that she lives in a $1.4 million mansion with her husband, a lawyer, and her 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, which holds vanity license plates that read “MY SYN.”

Police first raided that $1.4 million mansion in April 2012 after Perdue unknowingly shared some of the child pornography files that she’d been keeping with undercover police. There, they found a series of videos and photos on her computer, and evidence that she’d accumulated the collection using the screen name “Classybitch.”

Perdue was taken into federal custody in June 2012, shortly after she violated conditions stemming from an indictment on charges of transporting and shipping child pornography the month prior. Held since last summer, she confessed to a federal court on Tuesday that she’d been practicing the nasty habit since 2009. According to authorities, her child pornography collection had grown so vast that she’d lost track of its expanse.

Perdue was sentenced on Tuesday to 14 years in a federal prison, a sentence scheduled to being Jan. 13, 2014. She also could face a fine of up to $250,000, and she’ll have to live her life under the pretenses of a lifetime probation.

According to court records, Perdue has also agreed to pay $5,000 to one of the victims, though it’s unclear why that amount was determined or sanctioned.
