Man Calls 911 in Love Emergency

In another installment of Calling 911 Won’t Save Your Relationship a Florida man allegedly decided that the best way to keep his girlfriend from moving out is to alert the authorities.

Police in Tavernier say 35-year-old Matthew Corp called 911 and said his wife had been kidnapped by two men driving a U-Haul truck. Police went to Corp’s apartment, where they saw the reportedly kidnapped wife on her way out. When they spoke with the woman, she kindly explained that she had voluntarily packed up, hired a U-Haul and moved out of Corp’s house. She also made sure to mention that she was not Corp’s wife, but his “now ex-girlfriend.”

According to police, Corps was (surprise!) intoxicated. He is charged with misuse of 911 and resisting arrest.
