Two Russian teens have reportedly been arrested for murdering a man in Moscow and playing “football” with his head. Police are still searching for three other teens believed to have taken part in the disturbing act.
Ria Novosti quoted tabloid Komsomolskaya Pravda’s suggestion that the murder was committed in a drunken rage by the unidentified young men, one of whom reportedly claims that they stabbed the man to death. Investigators, however, believe that they killed the homeless man because they simply took a dislike to him.
The victim’s body was discovered decapitated near a residential building. A trail of blood led investigators to a bloody apartment where they found an axe and a saw that may or may not have still been bloody.
Though investigators deny that the victim’s head was actually used to play soccer, they confirmed that it was reportedly hacked off and scalped and may have been kicked into a trash can. Police believe the head, which has not yet been located, was picked up by garbage crews. The victim has not been identified.
The teens face up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
