Bike Stolen; Sheriff Somewhat Peeved

The tony Sacramento suburb of El Dorado Hills isn’t a particularly crime-ridden place (this infamous murder excepted,) so you can’t help but notice a little snark in the latest press release from the El Dorado County Sheriff.

“Have you seen someone that looks like this, riding on a real nice new bicycle?” the release asks. A few weeks ago this moustached-man staged a late-night break-in and rode off on a “very nice” high-end bike that retails for roughly $7000. The plea from law enforcement ends with the decidedly un-urgent “The sheriff’s Office is hoping someone will recognize him and give us a call.” You know, no pressure.

Check out the press release here. And if you see the guy, why don’t you just give Sheriff John D’Agostini a ring.
