On July 11, 1995, the remains of a female victim were discovered in East Caln Township in Chester County Pennsylvania. The victim is believed to have been 17 to 25 years of age at the time of death. Authorities believe that the estimated date of death is 3-7 days prior to discovery. Cause of death was homicidal violence.
According to her Doe Network File (147UFPA,) the East Caln Township Jane Doe’s nude torso was found in a maroon suitcase covered with a green trash bag along the Brandywine Creek, on Valley Creek Road, South of Boot Road in Downingtown, near to the Downingtown and West Chester boroughs of Pennsylvania.
The victim’s legs had been removed from her pelvis. The torso was wrapped in a sheet and then packaged in a plastic quilt bag. The quilt bag was wrapped in a quilt and placed in the maroon suitcase, which in turn was tied closed with wire and tape, and placed in the green garbage bag.The suitcase and quilt in which she was found wrapped were sold at Kmart stores.
According to information provided by authorities to the Doe Network, the victim was a light-complected white or Hispanic female, 4’11″-5’3″, with brown hair, brown eyes, pierced ears and no tattoos or scars. She was wearing a light-blue denim shirt with a collar, long sleeves, copper-colored buttons, and light-colored bands across the chest and back, and a denim skirt. Some clothing, bed sheets and a quilt were found in the suitcase.
