Unsolved Murder Spotlight: Diana Shawcroft and Jennifer Lueth

After high school, best friends Diana Shawcroft and Jennifer Lueth moved from Colorado to Glendale, Ariz., to live with Diana’s older sister Kristina. On the evening May 24, 1996, Diana and Jennifer told Kristina they were going to a nearby mini-mart. According to a cashier, they bought cigarettes and soda around 7 p.m., then hung around outside the store until a man in a blue truck pulled up. They then got into the truck and were never seen again.

Three months later, hunters found the bodies of both young women in a desert about 100 miles north of Glendale. From the remote location of the bodies, police determined that the killer had to be driving a pickup or four-wheel drive vehicle. Police also think there may have been more than one person involved in the murders.

Anyone with information regarding Jennifer and Diana’s killer or killers is encouraged to call the Arizona police tip line at (800) 343-TIPS or leave a tip online.
