On January 2, 2013, Cleveland, Ohio, stripper Lauren Block, 22, was performing a lap dance on the second-floor balcony of Christie’s Cabaret, when she unsuccessfully tried to “complete some sort of jump/dance move,” according to lap-dance recipient and witness Pasquale Storino, 25. Neither the customer, nor the police seem to have been able to figure out what move Block was attempting, but it is clear is that she was facing the railing, and wound up vaulting over it head first, and plunging 15 feet to the floor below.

According to the police report, club personnel at first thought that she had been thrown off the balcony, because witnesses saw two unknown males fleeing the bar. It was later determined, however, that it was all just a weird, horrible accident, and the two males were just witnesses. Security cam footage was inconclusive.

Block, who suffered severe head trauma in the fall, is listed in critical condition at a local hospital.
