Veteran newsman, former news anchor and person-who-really-should-know-better Sam Donaldson was arrested in Lewes, Delaware, around 8 p.m. on December 1, 2012, for driving under the influence. Donaldon, 78, was initially pulled over for driving on the shoulder of the road. Further investigation revealed to police that the ABC News Radio contributor had been drinking. He was asked to take a field sobriety test, which apparently he failed because he was arrested and booked. Donaldson was given a breathalyzer test and, according to police, “released to an adult pending his appearance in court.” He was reportedly “very cooperative.”
