More Details Emerge in Baby Punching Death

Relative of a young couple jailed after the death of their 2-week-old baby lived in filth, relatives say. Brian Jack Frazier and Stefany Ash, both 20, of High Point, N.C., are charged in connection with the death of their infant, Khan, who authorities allege died after Frazier punched him in the face.

“It was filthy. Empty cans of soda everywhere, old food scraps on plates,” Bruce Alston, Ash’s stepfather told the High Point Enterprise. Ash’s mother, Sandra Alston, told the paper that her daughter was recovering from a cesarean section and was not able to clean.

In court last week, a prosecutor said Frazier was playing video games around 5 a.m. when Khan became fussy. According to the prosecutor, Frazier told police he picked Khan up by the neck and punched him in the face. He then allegedly went to bed and did not wake up until about 2 p.m. along with Ash. Ash called 911 about an hour later; prosecutors allege she and Frazier discussed covering up Khan’s death and telling police he had been kidnapped. Frazier is charged with first-degree murder and Ash is charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder. Both are being held at Guilford County Jail.

In a video taken by WXII, the Alstons discuss the relationship between Ash and Frazier. They claim Frazier abused Ash, but she went back to him. Bruce Alston also mentions that Frazier had an abusive childhood. Ash and Frazier had another, 15-month-old child named Kane, who is now in the custody of DFS.
