Ohio’s Infamous Cleaning Fairy Sentenced to Probation

Cleaning Fairy Susan Warren of Elyria, Ohio, has pleaded guilty to attempted robbery after she entered a complete stranger’s house, did some light cleaning, rinsed a few dishes and left a bill for $75 with her phone number on a napkin. In May 2012 she told the homeowner that this was a thing she does: “No, I do this all the time …I just stop and clean your house.” In light of impending probation, she should probably adopt a new business model.

Homeowner Sherry Bush reported the bizarre incident to police, for obvious reasons, but also because she did not think that Warren had done a $75 job. She later told reporters that she would not be using Warren’s services in the future.

Warren was sentenced to one year of probation and 20 hours of community service. She has a listed cleaning service; perhaps they’ll put her talents to use.
