Alicia Moore is shown safely leaving the school bus.

Sadly police have identified the body of an African-American female found on November 6, 2012, as that of Alicia Moore, 16, who has been missing since November 2 from Greenville, Texas. The box, which was reportedly not visible from the road, was found by a construction worker on the outer side of a bridge railing in Van Zandt County Texas, about 40 miles from Alicia’s last known location. Police believe that the box was dumped sometime late November 4 or early November 5. The body was sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiner for identification.

All evidence at the time of Alicia’s disappearance indicated that she had left the bus safely, so her disappearance did not fit the criteria for an Amber Alert. Police instead alerted the media and state and federal law enforcement agencies about the missing girl, but never got any leads. At this time police have not released any details other than confirming the identity of the body and there was trauma to the body. The medical examiner has not yet released a cause of death. Hopefully more details will be available after a press conference scheduled for late Wednesday Afternoon.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to call the Greenville Police Department at 903-457-2900.
