Murdered Teen Tweeted About Stalker

The body of Hannah Truelove, 16, was found Friday in the woods near the Gainesville, Ga., apartment complex where she lived with her mother. According to Hall County Sheriff’s office spokesperson Sgt. Kiley Sargent, the body showed signs of trauma. Truelove had been reported missing the day before.

Prior to her death,  tweets posted by Truelove indicated that she had a stalker. On August 12, she tweeted, “I got me an uglyass stalker,” followed by “this can’t be happening.” On the 18th, she wrote “So scared right now,” and on the day before she disappeared, “I need to move out of these dang apartments.” Police said, “We have to determine what she meant by stalker. A stalker to a 16-year-old might not be a stalker to what may be Georgia code official. We’re trying to determine what she meant by that.” The cause of death has not yet been released, so as not to compromise the investigation, but police did say that her injuries ”were indicative that she died from a violent death.”

Grief counselors were available at Gainesville High School yesterday to help students cope with this shocking news.
