Troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan, 24, is again making headlines, this time as a formal suspect in a missing jewelry case. It seems that the actress attended an overnight party at the home of Sam Magid on August 18, 2012. ¬†As she was leaving the next day, Magid noticed that about $100,000-worth of watches and sunglasses was missing and he told people to stay put until investigators arrived. Police quickly settled on Lohan and her assistant Gavin Dayle as suspects. Magid retracted his complaint days later, saying that the stolen items were returned. He told police that one of the two men that Lohan had brought as guests to the party had returned the missing items, and that he suspected the men of having taken the items. Police believe the account of Lohan’s guest, Andrew Knight, a man who claims to be the son of Death Row Records founder Suge Knight. Knight said that he and Lohan’s other guest received several of the missing items from Lohan and her assistant Gavin Doyle during the party, and later returned them to their host. Magid reportedly told police that he found the other missing items after Lohan told him that she had hidden them around the house to keep them safe from burglars, but that she was on Ambien at the time and was fuzzy on the details.

Even though Magid won’t be pressing charges, police are unlikely to let the case drop. Investigators believe Knight’s rendering of evening’s events, and plan to use him as a witness against Lohan and Doyle. Lohan is still on probation for walking out of a Venice, Calif., jewelry store with a $2,500 necklace on January 22, 2012. Stealing more jewelry would be a violation of her probation. Also, police are still trying to determine if Lohan was behind the wheel of her shiny black Porsche rental car on June 8, 2012, when it slammed into the back of a semi, totaling the rental. Since Lohan’s probation stems from a 2007 drunk driving charge, a reckless driving charge would also be seen as a probation violation.
