Police: Man Stole Dozens of Animal Mounts

Police in Lexington, N.C., say Terry William Pitt, Jr., 33, stole dozens of mounted animals, including bass, bears, bobcats, coyotes, deer, ducks, foxes, mountain lions, turkeys, as well as wolf pelts and around 60 deer antlers between 2009 and 2010. According to police, the items were stolen from four taxidermists in the area.

Pitt’s home was searched after he was arrested on charges stemming from a series of alleged break-ins and thefts. He is charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and felony possession of stolen property, and is being held on $40,000 bond.
