Two Female Bodies Found; Possibly Those of Missing Sisters

Following a tip, police in Missouri found the bodies of two women in an open field in Clinton County late last night.  Police have not yet confirmed whether these bodies are the remains of missing sisters Britny Haarup, 19, and Ashley Key, 22, who were last seen Friday, but their father told KMBC this morning the dead women are his daughters.  The tip that led to the discovery of the bodies came from an unnamed person of interest in the case, who has been arrested.

Haarup’s fiance Matt Meyers alerted neighbors and called police Friday after reportedly finding the couple’s two children, 6 months and 18 months, alone in their crib when he came from from work.  Blood was reportedly found inside the house, as well as both women’s purses and Haarup’s cell phone. Bed sheets were missing from the home. On Saturday morning, police discovered a white pickup truck belonging to Meyers’ father abandoned on a gravel road miles from the home.

According to the women’s family members, Key was staying with Haarup and her fiance in an attempt to turn her life around after falling in with a bad crowd.  Key has a 4-year-old daughter.

The bodies have been brought to the medical examiner’s office for identification and analysis.
