Update: Melanie Meri Davy was found safe Thursday in Lake Elmo, Minn., after a witnesses recognized Melanie and her father at a restaurant and called police. Melanie was returned to her mother and Shon Davy was arrested on charges of deprivation of parental rights.

Police in Lakeville, Minn., are searching for 15-year-old Melanie Meri Davy and her father, Shon Davy, 38, who were both last seen Monday.  Davy failed to return the girl after a weekend visitation, police say.  His status as a twice-convicted sex offender raises concerns for Melanie’s well-being. Davy was convicted in 1995 and 1998 for second- and third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
