Houston man Baron Keith Armstrong, 45, is dead and Johnathan Renard Castaneda, 25, is on the run, wanted for murder after a tragic end to a June 8, 2012, party they were both attending with friends. It seems that Armstrong had misplaced or lost his keys, and began asking others at the gathering as to their whereabouts. An argument with Castaneda quickly ensued, and Castaneda reportedly became so enraged that he beat Armstrong unconscious. Police received a call about an assault in progress, while Castaneda vented his rage on the other party goers, knocking them all unconscious. He continued beating the defenseless Armstrong with objects he found around the house, and raped a female party attendee. Police arrived to find Armstrong dead and Castaneda gone. The other victims were hospitalized, though none had life-threatening injuries. The female sexual assault victim identified Castaneda to authorities. He is still at large, and charged with aggravated sexual assault. Police may add murder to the charges.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of suspect Johnathan Castaneda is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
