UPDATE: Pierce Crowley was found shortly after midnight this morning in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan.  According to White Plains Police Lt. Eric Fischer, Crowley was spotted among a group of teens by a police officer from the 34th Precinct.  White Plains police were already searching the Washington Heights area after receiving tips that Crowley was seen there.  The officer who approached the kids to see what they were doing recognized Pierce from a flyer he was carrying in his pocket and alerted White Plains police.  In a statement, White Plains Police Commissioner David Chong said, “Our detectives were tenacious – they worked hard on this from the beginning. We’re very glad that he was found safe and that he’s home with his family.”

Family and friends of Rye, NY, teen Pierce Crowley are asking the public for help in locating the boy, who was last seen Friday at the White Plains Metro-North station.   Since his disappearance, hundreds of volunteers have mobilized, putting up flyers throughout New York City, Westchester County and Connecticut.

Family friend Peggy Dunne also warns supporters to be way of fundraising efforts that may be capitalizing on the family’s misfortune. Dunne says the Crowley family is not involved in any fundraising. Those interested in volunteering throughout the tri-state area may contact Dunne at dunnepd @

In an email to friends Sunday, Crowley’s parents, Peter and Gretchen Crowley wrote “As some of you may already know, our dear Pierce is missing. He was not feeling well before he disappeared and is in a fragile state. It is URGENT that we locate him ASAP.” The Crowleys may be contacted at findpiercecrowley@ with tips.
